Because he owns his own team and he drives a race car much like i would personally and i think that it is great that he will go out and talk to his fans before or after a race. It is the small things like that, that make me a fan. |

| MOST MEMORABLE ROBBY MOMENT |
He was late to
arrive at the Indy 500 in 2003. I spotted him driving a van in and no
one else saw him. I proceeded to chase the van across the parking lot.
When he got out I approached him about signing my shirt but he said he had
to go. I didn't have a marker anyway. He stood around for a few
minutes anyway. I asked him politely afterwards if he had time then.
He was very cool about it. My father proceeded to tell everyone around
not to get in my way because they had no idea who they were up against. |

He's the most exciting driver on the track, Always keeps us on the edge of our seats, He does not give up, And has that win-or-wreck attitude. Cool that he races anything on wheels. Loved the Mickey Thompson truck races. |
| FAVORITE ROBBY WIN |
For me it's his Richmond Busch race. He won it as a owner/driver. He ran a great race and was a big deal for a small team like his to put everything together. |
| FAVORITE ROBBY QUOTE |
"I can't drive a pig." After Robby got out of that junky #4 Kodak car after a blown engine. They fired him soon after then he won his first race for RCR that year. And almost won 3 others. |
| MOST MEMORABLE ROBBY MOMENT |
When he ran out of gas on the last lap of the Indy 500. Heart breaking. Or when the
NASCAR black box blew up and took the Busch Glen race away from him. He's had some hard times. But
a lot of the RCR days stick in my mind as positive because he was a threat to win and Richard
believed in him. |
| OTHER FAVORITE DRIVERS |
Bobby Allison was my favorite for along time. Then Davey. Then Robby. And like to see Jeff Burton or Kasey Mears up front. |

I would say my favorite win was his

| WHY IS ROBBY YOUR FAVORITE |
Robby Gordon is the perfect driver for a true race fan. He absolutely loves his fans. He is a hard nosed driver that expects nothing but victory and will do anything to win. He is slightly controversial (like myself) and has a wonderful
sense of humor. My favorite Indycar driver since I knew racing was Tom Sneva. He retired for good in 92, so I needed a new favorite driver. Robby Gordon was a rookie for A.J. Foyt in 93. I was looking for someone to wow me. Pole day 1993 Indianapolis, the first accident I see for the month is Robby Gordon (right in front of me). Tom Sneva hit the wall in his last 500 in front of me, so I thought it was a sign. Months later, he was the first driver to replace my favorite
NASCAR driver at the time (the late Davey Allison). That was the defining moment. I knew that Robby Gordon was meant to be my favorite driver. Robby is
truly a jack of all trades. |
| FAVORITE ROBBY WIN |
Has to be the Twin 125 win at Daytona in 03. Early that morning, a close friend of mine died and I took it very hard. Though a Robby win can't bring a friend back, it sure helped me get my mind off of things for a while. I was so proud of him and the team. That seemed to be the turning point of the 31's success. That win took some of the sting off of a rough day. Thanks Robby! |
| FAVORITE ROBBY QUOTE |
4th Sucks! (After finishing 4th at the Indianapolis 500 in 99 when he ran out of fuel w/ a lap to go.) |
| MOST MEMORABLE ROBBY MOMENT |
1999 Indianapolis 500. Growing up in Indianapolis and being force fed racing since I can remember, the 500 means more to me than any other race hands down. Robby Gordon means more to me than any other driver hands down. I couldn't believe that he was SO CLOSE to winning the Indy 500. All he needed was a measly caution in those closing laps somewhere and he probably would have made it.
Definitely not the best memory (because he lost in such dramatic fashion), but absolutely the most memorable. If there were only a few more drops in that tank!!!!...... |
